It’s that time of year to consider who might earn an at-large bid to compete at USAV Nationals. With four bids now to award in 17 Open (Disney, LoneStar, Northern Lights, and Far Western didn’t use the allotted three), we have some things to consider:
Will a robust region (like Arizona or Nebraska) give out two bids to strong contenders? Will a team with a better win percentage get the bid over a team with more wins in general? And, how can we make this both the most fair process, while also the most competitive field at USAVs?
With that in mind, I’ve evaluated many, but chosen a top-five, with four possible alternative 17 Open at-large bid challengers including their finishes in major tournaments, as well as wins against Open-qualified teams:
