We mentioned previously that we’d spend some more time wrapping up the Beast of the Southeast 18s Qualifier, and here we are. You can catch up from the event PrepVolleyball.com covered live here:

In our preview, we predicted that one of the two teams who already had a bid in 18 USA would become an 18-Open bid winner in Atlanta. In fact, no team entered Beast with an Open bid in hand, and the two teams with USA bids, Upward Stars 18 Corey and OT 18 C Aaron, had a good shot of staying in Gold until the end.

But we didn’t predict that one of those two teams would win the entire tournament and prove a thing or two along the way. That’s what happened for unranked OT who traded in its USA bid for an Open one and felt the joy of what only a handful of teams have experienced so far this season… that is, winning an 18 Open qualifier.
