Big South: Few Twists And Turns On Day 1

The way the opening day of the Big South Qualifier in Atlanta played out can only mean one thing. A whirlwind of action is on its way on Days 2 and 3. Such is life when the first day is more of a tempered warmup than shooting out the gates like horse racing.

Here’s the absolute bottom line after Saturday’s Open divisions in the 15s, 16s and 17s concluded. No previously-qualified teams were eliminated. Other than that, one tough pool in 15 Open led to two potential bid hopefuls being given the boot.

However, per usual, there were certainly some close calls and harrowing moments that just as easily could’ve flipped the Day 1 script. Let’s take a look at some of the more important touching points.
