Save for the actual result, there wasn’t much else to know by the time top-ranked Top Select 17 Elite Blake and No. 4 Mintonette Sports m.71 squared off for the 17 Open championship at the Big South Qualifier Monday afternoon in Atlanta.

Both already had bids and their latest performances weren’t needed to solidify the sides as legitimate contenders come this summer in Indianapolis. That had already been established previously. When Top Select closed out its weekend by sweeping Mintonette, 30-28, 25-15, for the title, qualifying had long been over with in the division. Whereas the final bids in 15 and 16 Open were decided in the last matches of the day, 17 Open was a relative bore compared to those age groups.
