Tied for third at last month’s Triple Crown NIT, AVC Clev Rox 15 Tom and A5 Mizuno 15-1 Bob did not face one another during their time in Kansas City. That changed at this past weekend’s Ultra Ankle Bluegrass Tournament in Louisville. 

As if making up for KC, AVC and A5 squared off twice, once Saturday and again Sunday as they eyed the gold medal. The one that mattered more came in the 15 Open semifinals as the two-day tournament neared its conclusion. For the second time, A5 earned its stripes against AVC, taking the Day 2 rematch in three games, 25-18, 21-25, 15-9, to reach the championship match.
