Bluegrass: No Doubting No. 1 In 15 Open

PVB’s top-ranked team in OTVA continues to impress in wrapping up another title ahead of entering its qualifying schedule, which includes a possible showdown with another national power.

Two weekends ago, Asics MAVS 15-1 became the first team to qualify for Open on its way to claiming the 15 Open title at Crossroads.

Here’s what John Tawa, who was on hand, wrote:

“Not only did Asics MAVS 15-1 become the first to earn a 15 Open bid in 2017 and the first to win a 15 Open qualifier, but with its dominance over a stellar field this past weekend at the Colorado Crossroads national qualifier, including a sweep of national No. 2 TAV in the finals, the team from Kansas City made a strong claim to be ranked first in the nation.”

Weeks earlier, OTVA 15 S Rox Red arrived at the Triple Crown Sports Pre-Season NIT and rolled to the title there. I witnessed some of that domination and here’s what I wrote about OTVA at the time:
