Usually, we at PrepVolleyball.com begin covering the club game from the 15's age division up, which typically means these athletes are freshmen in high school. However, we know that there are some outstanding eighth-graders, forced to play up due to their late birthdays. The USAV Championship Manual outlines the age definitions so that an athlete who was born on or after September 1st of 2004 is required to play in the 15-and-under division. Those few "old" eighth-graders who fall under that category will jump up to play with (almost-all) ninth-graders on the 15's team. Some younger players seek out the challenge and have the talent and ability to play up. Today we're highlighting both. Let's take a look at 48 eighth-graders, and one seventh-grader, who are playing up and stepping up to the challenge of a higher age group.
