Last week, I shared my thoughts on the inaugural GJNC 18s event being held separately.
My general feeling is, while nothing was wrong with the three-day weekend in Milwaukee, it wasn’t such an improvement to justify the switch.
The main thing missing for me was the younger age groups getting to be awe-struck and inspired by the 18s, who should be the featured attraction.

One person commented about there not being any graduations held over Memorial Day weekend. This may be accurate for where they are located. However, my daughter who will play 18’s next year will in fact have graduation on Memorial Day weekend. I can’t imagine our town being the only one to hold it then.
