The final eight teams are in place in each age group’s Elite division, vying for a place on the podium at the Triple Crown National Invitational Tournament (NIT). Just three more matches stand in the champion’s way. Before then, a lot happened on separation day, Sunday, when the single-elimination bracket began.

The top 32 teams from power pools crossed with those in non-power pools and there were upsets aplenty. Each match separates the bottom from the top, one layer at a time. Win and you move up the ladder; or, your team plays for a lower place overall in the tournament with each loss.

Below are 10 highlights from the second day, Sunday, at the NIT.
