The first round of 18 Open pool play came and went with little upheaval as the 18s Girls Junior National Championships got underway Friday morning in Dallas.

Save for No. 72 OJVA 18-1 Gold landing one over No. 16 Sunshine 18 Westside, the first round remained relatively quiet.

Too quiet, really.

But after another round passed and the results hardly suggesting the national championships were underway, the idea of a fairly dull Day 1 wasn't far off.

Thankfully, that wasn't the case. While none of the top three seeds were uprooted Friday, the top seeds after that were not so fortunate as the competition concluded in rapid fashion.
