HJV (Houston Juniors Volleyball) 18 Elite team has already punched its ticket to the USAV Nationals, but the Texas power is looking to take its “game to a whole another level,” according to coach Kara Pratt.

HJV showed that and then some on opening day of the Sunshine Classic qualifier on Friday at the Orange County Convention Center, barreling to a perfect 3-0 record in pool play of the 18 Open division. But two of its victories came in three sets, prompting Pratt to implore her team to focus on improvement over the next two days.

“We have a long way to go,” Pratt said. “Effort, decision-making. I’m trying to keep them motivated.”
