Maverick 18 National had tied up Munciana Samurai at 20s in the first set of an 18 Open match at the inaugural JVA Cleveland Rock N Rumble Saturday and my heart rate elevated.
Could the Ohio club’s second team pull off the monumental upset over what was expected to be one of the best teams in the country? What would that do to the rankings? Muncie was No. 6 nationally when the pre-season rankings came out on Friday?
Then I had to remind myself: there should be no such thing as a January upset. There IS no such thing as a January upset!
