JVA West Coast Cup: Top-Ranked Clubs Wave Goodbye In 16 Open

With so many highly-ranked teams going at it for 16 Open gold, it was the least expected one of the bunch that ruled them all.

Wave 16s' Morgan Lewis (11) tries to angle one around the block of TAV.

PVB’s third-ranked team and No. 1 overall seed Coast 16-1 was eliminated on Day 1.

With two days to go at the JVA West Coast Cup in Long Beach, that was already going to be the biggest story to come out of 16 Open.

And yet, it wasn’t.

If that wasn’t stunning enough, how about none of the national-powers in the field in No. 2 Mintonette, No. 4 Tstreet, No. 5 San Gabriel, No. 10 TAV, No. 13 Munciana and No. 18 Sunshine winning the event either?
