LOUISVILLE – Deep into the club season, it likely didn’t surprise anyone to see most of the top-seeded Open division teams from around the country in championship form on opening day of the 2022 JVA World Challenge Friday at the Kentucky Exposition Center. In the 18s, the top nine seeds all went undefeated, led by No. 1 SPVB 18 Elite. In the 17s, seven of the nine top-seeded teams survived the first day unscathed, including top seed Academy 17E Tsunami. Tri-State Elite is the No. 1 seed in both the 16s and 15s and showed why by going undefeated.Second round of pool play gets underway Saturday. Championship day is Sunday.
