Anytime a highly-ranked team like Asics KiVA 17 Red – No. 6 in the country in PrepVolleyball.com’s Top 60 – is such a heavy favorite as the top seed in 17 Open at the JVA World Challenge, the question is a basic one.

Can anyone stop the obvious from happening?

The bottom line showed KiVA hammering Tri-State Elite 17 Blue in straight sets, 25-15, 25-12, in the championship match. And therefore, the whole tournament must have been like that for KiVA, right?

Wrong.
