There are just two more age groups left as we continue to preview the Triple Crown National Invitational Tournament (NIT) in Kansas City this coming weekend. We've written about the 15s division (here!) and the 16s (here!) this week, and now we are ready to deliver the 17s.

Like the 16s division, the 17s age group has 28 pools (A through BB). Four (A-D) of those are power pools, each made up of eight teams. Teams playing in the power pools will not be eliminated on the opening day, playing only to seed the pool for single-elimination competition on Sunday, Day 2, to then merge with the best non-power pool teams. You can download the tournament flow chart, here.

Thirty-one of the PrepVolleyball.com Top 50 Junior Recruits and three Frosh 59 players will take the court in Kansas City (Soph 79 is not out at the time of this article!).

We name these athletes, lay out each of the power pools plus the ranked teams at the event (there are 55!), pick some dark horse teams, the final four and… the winner! Competition begins on Saturday, so here we go!
