Two players with great potential.
One plays for a well-known and nationally recognized club.
The other suits up for a club working to get to that level.
In a few years, none of it will matter.
They’ll be facing off on opposite sides of the net.
As we show this week in our Recruiting Dishes, there are different paths to playing Big Ten volleyball.
Kennedi Orr, who committed to Nebraska and is featured here, was a known commodity, so to speak. Her older sister, Brie, was part of big-time Northern Lights teams and landed at Iowa. It figured the younger Orr, who also plays for Northern Lights, wouldn’t be far behind.
On the other side of the spectrum, there is Annie Cate Fitzpatrick. The 6-0 Class of 2020 outside hitter plays for Ocala Power. Not consistently qualifying every age group for Open every year like Northern Lights, Ocala Power out of Florida flies further off the national radar.
