A day after battling nerves, travel fatigue, and opening-day pressure, players from coast to coast stepped up their game on the second day of the Sunshine Volleyball Classic at the Orange County Convention Center.

With Gold bracket berths and Junior Olympic Nationals bids on the line, teams plowed through the second round of pool play and challenge-round matches on Saturday. There were some surprises as well as the usual results from some of the more noted powers as players in the 15, 16, 17 and 18 Open, USA and American divisions competed with a sense of urgency.

Medal-round pool play and championship brackets round out the USAV qualifier on Sunday. Here are some of the individual highlights:
