The field was deep at LoneStar in all divisions and wide-open as to who would take the title in 16 Open. In the 16 Open division, there were eight already-qualified teams. If you still needed to qualify and tried your team’s hand in Dallas, then you ran the risk that zero bids would be awarded. Even by the end of Day 1, seven of those stayed in gold, allowing for just one team (one!) to possibly bid.
