Lone Star State players, coaches, and fans were beaming after Open division play Sunday at the Sunshine Volleyball Classic.

Winning Gold in a USAV qualifier can do that to a person.

After the dust had settled on the final day of the three-day tournament, two Houston Skyline teams and a TAV squad had captured championships in the 18, 17, and 16 divisions. Legacy 15-1 Adidas out of Michigan won the 15s title.

It was an impressive showing by the Texas squads, which ran the gauntlet of numerous powerhouses en route to climbing the podium. And, they did it all by surviving tough gold-medal pool play on the final day.
