Torie's Story: How NKYVC's Torie Houston Went From Diagnosis to Division I

When NKYVC player Torie Houston was four years old, she began showing symptoms of a one in a million condition called a 'cavernoma.' Blood was leaking into her spine from an unusual cluster of blood vessels. Originally diagnosed as a tumor, a second opinion correctly uncovered the problem. In response, she began to struggle with lethargy, difficulty walking, and signs of paralysis on the left side of her body.
