PREPVOLLEYBALL’S VEGAS UNSIGNED SHOWCASE DISCONTINUED AFTER 12 YEARS!

PrepVolleyball.com will no longer partner with the Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) on the February Las Vegas Unsigned Showcase or cover the declining Las Vegas Classic.

We had every intention of running this showcase for the 13th year, however, less than a month ago, the SCVA reneged on a mutually beneficial verbal agreement (hence why registration was originally opened) and has not returned our numerous phone calls or emails.

Instead, we will continue to partner with stronger organizations and tournaments who value our expertise and experience in running quality Showcases for athletes and college coaches.

We run another Showcase the same weekend in D.C. in conjunction with the fast-growing Capitol Hill Classic, another in Denver before the Crossroads Qualifier early in March, and another still in Atlanta at Big South on March 29. That’s where we will be, both for the Showcase and the tournaments that follow. We urge players and college coaches to choose one or more of those instead, as we have the expertise to make sure you get the very most out of your Showcase experience.

Register for a showcase here!

From the way this is written it is obviously a parting do to a business disagreement and Prepvolleyball.com is attempting to sway teams and coaches from attending the event.

I don’t like the way you worded this for one. Same as above statement. Waiting so long to inform has cost me two round trip tickets already purchased! I sent you an email asking if you were having the showcase and got a response yes! Would you like to reimburse that airfare?? Unbelievable.

We had every intention of doing this showcase. The SCVA reneged on a verbal agreement and has decided to run their own showcase. We have no details on their showcase.

Agree that the wording of this announcement seems political and it’s disappointing to see. After all this isn’t about Prepvolleyball, or at least it’s supposed to be about the girls and exposure. Sad

Please see the updated text. Please trust that this is not political at all. We planned to do the showcase. The SCVA chose to run the showcase without us.

This smacks of the same nonsense PrepVolleyball did last year when they cancelled the Milwaukee Showcase. I had hotel reservations and scheduled the trip. When I emailed asking about the final list of schools attending I got a “didn’t you get our email about the cancellation”. Heck no I didn’t and I was thisclose to making the trip. They had my phone #.
    Should of called. Very unprofessional.

It really is unfortunate for this website to word their response in the matter they did. Prepvolleyball.com obviously is not a non biased reporter of girls volleyball. They will not even report on the tournament? The amount of politics inside of club sports not just volleyball is just out of control. My girls play in the SCVA in southern California and we are in the middle of a power struggle between large influential clubs and the SCVA. These “influential” clubs partnered with the JVA last year to have a tournament on the last weekend of the 17s and 18s SCVA tournaments. Which these “influential” teams just thumbed their collective noses at the SCVA and didn’t attend the last tournament. Everybody can draw their own conclusions on what is going on but its sad for Prepvolleyball.com to come off the way they are with JVA as a partner of their showcases.
