College: Top Impact Freshmen (Non-Tourney Teams)

Not every team can make the NCAA field, but it doesn’t mean they don’t have rookies taking over key roles. We take a look at which freshmen could star for projected non-tournament teams this fall.

Every year releases its Senior Aces, the top senior recruits and how they project to perform in college.

As you can likely guess, many of the nation’s best programs tend to land the highest-rated Senior Aces. For 2017, the top three were Lexi Sun (Texas), Bri Butler (Texas) and Sydney Hilley (Wisconsin). Of the three, Hilley has the biggest chore ahead of her, replacing Lauren Carlini at setter. But, that’s another article.

Below, we take a look at which freshmen could potentially make the biggest impact for what we expect to be non-tournament qualifiers. There’s a good chance we’ll see Sun and Hilley doing their thing in the postseason, but these others probably won’t get that chance. At least not this season.
