PVB Player of the Week (Sept. 12)

— Taylor Agost, Oregon, Sr, RS

It was interesting in terms of PVB’s Top 50 showdowns last week. Just three schools picked up victories over multiple opponents ranked in the Top 50. First was Penn State, which defeated ranked foes in Stanford and Colorado. The other two might be tougher to guess, but it was Oregon and Wisconsin. The Ducks swept aside Wichita State and Cal Poly, both ranked in the Top 50. The Badgers defeated Top-50 schools in Texas A&M and Lipscomb. And that’s it. For Agost, her performance was nearly a flawless one for Oregon. The senior right side racked up 28 kills and only two errors in three outings. It featured sending down 11 kills and hitting .733 with 4 blocks in the Ducks’ sweep over Cal Poly. The next match against the Shockers, Agost ended with 9 kills, 0 errors and hit .750. She was ‘average’ as Oregon topped Duquesne, with 8 kills, 2 errors and hitting .400 with 3 blocks.
