For the second consecutive week, there was only slight movement near the top of the rankings.

The lead pack has separated itself enough from the rest that any results involving the top five or six teams causes very little shifting.

Wayne State took down No. 2 Minnesota-Duluth last week, and fell to No. 3 Southwest Minnesota State. Augustana, at No. 5, lost to No. 4 Winona State. The compelling theatre on the court doesn’t translate to the rankings, because they take turns beating each other up.

Thus, their strength of schedules are so strong that it’s hard to break up the lead pack and insert another program. Therefore, the only change was Augustana and Wayne State flip-flopping.

No one else lost in the Top 10 last week.

Overall, only four teams from last week’s Top 25 lost to lower-ranked or unranked programs. Metro State was upset by Colorado School of Mines. Truman State stunned Lewis, while McKendree continued to have Rockhurst’s number. Lastly, Dominican upset Concordia-Irvine, which was new to the Top 25 last week before falling out this week.

I appreciate the work you guys do but It doesn’t make sense to me that Concordia, Irvine get eliminated from the top 25 because they lost a “meaningless” game at the end to Dominican (who’s not a bad team by the way). They already wrapped up the conference, they had an overall record of 26-3 and went 11-0 on the road! UNDEFEATED ON THE ROAD! That is an amazing accomplishment. I obviously do not have a lot of knowledge about the rest of the countries D2 VB teams but this team is full of SoCal talent and deserves to be recognized. Did I mention they went 26-3, undefeated on the road and WON THE PAC WEST CONF!!! Thank you for what you do and allowing us to express our opinions!
