Three days in and there’s already been a shake up with the Top 10.

The rankings below take into consideration the results from Friday, Saturday and Sunday. For purposes of PrepVolleyball.com’s Top 50 throughout the season, we’ll use the results from Monday-Sunday as our seven-day period for our weekly rankings.

Notes

Wisconsin, North Carolina and Florida State were three Top-10 teams to lose over the weekend. All three dropped as a result. Florida State was an interesting case because it lost to Colorado but beat San Diego. Colorado lost to San Diego. Florida State stayed ahead of the other two because its loss came in five sets. … BYU is the first team to check in that suffered a loss over the weekend. Not only that, BYU moved up from 22 to 16 despite losing to USC. It was a quality loss. … That’s why North Carolina stays in the Top 25 despite being 1-2. The Tar Heels lost to BYU and USC. … Oklahoma stayed in the Top 50 at No. 39 despite being 0-3. The Sooners lost to two teams ranked ahead of them in the preseason Top 50 and the third loss was to San Diego, which was perhaps under-rated in the initial rankings. … Marquette jumped from on the bubble to No. 28 after going 3-0.
