With one of the deadliest outside duos in the nation, Laguna Beach 18-1 powered its way to a 5-2 pool play record during last year’s 18 Open at Junior Nationals but failed to advance after being on the wrong end of the tiebreaker scenario.

That left-side combo – Alyse Ford and Lindsey Ruddins – helped Laguna Beach start the season on a high note, finishing runner up to TAV 18 Black at the SCVA Las Vegas Classic in February. It was Laguna’s only loss of the tournament, which included victories over Forza1 North 18 Asics and Coast 18 Mizuno.

Later in the season, Laguna rode the pair to a runner-up finish at the So Cal Qualifier, falling to Tstreet 18 Shawn in the final with Ruddins sitting out due to injury. There, Laguna Beach beat Forza once more, as well as Rancho Valley 18 Premier.
