The MVP wasn’t even supposed to be here!

Developments almost 7,000 miles away changed everything and altered the fate of the 2015 Junior Nationals 18 Open Division forever.

Cyprus was no longer able to host the FIVB Women’s U20 World Championship, meaning members of the USA Women’s Junior National Team were able to participate with their respective club teams because of the scheduling change that followed the cancellation of the event in that country.

Two players that should have been overseas weren't and their respective teams were still alive for the Open gold medal when the quarterfinals began on the fourth and final day of competition at the New Orleans Convention Center.

The original Junior National Team schedule meant Tstreet 18 Shawn’s Hayley Hodson (Stanford) and Front Range VBC 18 Black’s Jordyn Poulter (Illinois) couldn’t compete in NOLA and that would have drastically changed the final results.
