We live in a country of 325 Million people. More than all the European countries combined. There are all types of people but the internet allows us global access to events. Yesterday, there were millions of small acts (and some large) of kindness between two americans — none of them will be publicized. The crime is abhorrent and the perpetrators are terrible people. This has nothing to do with the game. Those people would have lost it over a parking spot, someone cutting them off, any perceived slight.
15 years ago, this would be in a local paper and none of us would hear of it outside of small town Ohio. Now a whole country can hear about it. Since most media (not PrepVB by any means) mostly report negative news/tragedies/bloody crimes all of us feel this is becoming MORE prevalent. The opposite is true. Violent crime has been decreasing for decades but the geographical area of crime reporting is expanding.
