Words can not describe how proud we are of Coach Paula Kirkland. My freshman year at Dorman she started the Volleyball Program having been a standout Athlete at Dorman High School herself. Now my own Daughter Grace Metcalf was the setter for the 2017 5A state championship team and a Finalist for prep volleyball.com Freshman of the year. We owe her so much!!!! Paula has devoted her life to building strong young women to lead our Community and Nation. We are so blessed to have her!! Also not surprised that Alexis Glover, the Wando Coach and a class act nominated her. I filmed the Wando Invitational and it was painful. My Grace played in all of the Matches. Afterward Coach Kirkland spent time with her and helped understand that we had to remain focus on the big picture. Winning is great but it was valuable life lesson that will last a life time. Thank you Coach Kirkland and Congrats!!!

I had the rare opportunity to work with Suzanne Fitzgerald for almost five years as a coach with A5 Volleyball in Atlanta, GA where she has had an equal level of success. Her disciplined approach to coaching coupled with her rare understanding of the needs of developing young women is, in my mind, her greatest gift. She teaches so much about life through the art of volleyball—on the court and off. You couldn’t have picked a better model for all of your readers to aspire to be.
