“Tomorrow Madelyn begins her battle with cancer,” Jen Wilson wrote about her daughter on October 29, 2017.
Standing confidently at 6-2, 15-year-old Madelyn Wilson plays volleyball, hitting on the right-side for Triangle Volleyball Club and Apex Friendship High School in North Carolina, where her father Tony is an Assistant Principal.
Madelyn is a hardworking and determined student. She gets good grades in school and enjoys science, especially. She wants to stay involved in volleyball for as long as possible, so is interested in physical therapy or sports medicine. An only child, Madelyn is well-liked, social, and bubbly, and is a self-proclaimed “do-stuff kid” who likes to go to the mall and stay active with friends.
Triangle’s Executive Director Sherry Fadool said, “She has always been a hard worker in the gym and a great teammate. She’s nice to everyone and a role model to our youngest players.”
But, we know that cancer doesn’t discriminate.
