From Wheelchair to Podium, Ketelhut Finds Her Stride - Again
FacebookTwitterEmailPrint

Take a look at 6-3 senior middle blocker Gretchen Ketelhut and her success in volleyball is just the beginning of her greatest accomplishments. The UNC Greensboro recruit was a member of the SPVB 18 Elite team that took Bronze this summer at AAU Nationals in 18 Open and finished third the year prior with SPVB 16 Elite, too. This year at Plainfield North HS in Illinois, ranked No. 56 nationally, Ketelhut has racked up 40 blocks in just 21 matches and has a 0.500 kill percentage while hitting at a 0.390 efficiency.

But rewind a year ago to last October and Ketelhut was just making her return to the volleyball court in an unlikely role for an over-six-foot-tall athlete. Ketelhut rotated in the match to serve the ball and rotated back out… and everyone was thrilled to witness the feat.
