HS State Salute: Indiana’s Yorktown Completes Perfect Season, New Castle Repeats

No. 4 Yorktown, the Indiana 4A undefeated State Champion

Indiana’s State tournament was played at the historic Worthen Arena at Ball State University and finished on Saturday with four winners on top.

Yorktown, in 4A, remained unbeaten all season, save one set; New Castle won back-to-back 3A State titles and has a new record-holder with two years left to play; North Judson-San Pierre’s volleyball team has given the school its very first State Championship in 2A; and Barr-Reeve won its second title in 1A and will play in 2A next season.

In addition, all four Championship teams were head by female coaches for the first time in the 22-year history of the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA).
