New York State Champions Celebrated with Ring Parade

Last November, Connetquot’s New York Class AA State title marked its third such championships in program history, all within five seasons. But the celebration thereafter was to continue this spring with a ring ceremony and unveiling of a new banner in the school’s gym.

With school going virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic, Thunderbirds coach Justin Hertz and the team’s seniors came up with an alternate plan for a caravan-style ring parade with the route stopping at each player’s house – a celebration that went the distance, from a distance.
