Texas Takes Tournaments Off The Table

If you've been keeping up with our State-By-State Return to Play Report, you'll see that in Texas, the University Interscholastic League (UIL) announced an unorthodox remedy for the Covid-19 pandemic's impact on Fall high school sports, a staggered start. Class 1A through 4A athletics will begin in regularly in August, while Class 5A and 6A will not begin until September. But the bigger impact of the UIL's plan was that no teams would be allowed to participate or host any invitational tournaments.
