National Power 25: Oct. 5

Welcome back to the National Power 25! We had some fantastic tournaments and matches in the last seven days, and we're excited to announce that after today, the ranking will be expanding to 30 teams. But for now, let's get down to business.

Keep an eye out for 'Inside the Power 25,' a weekly follow-up release in which we break down all the movers and shakers from the week’s performance leading up to the release of the rankings. Therefore, there is no reason to send unnecessary emails regarding the selection process.

Remember, these rankings are meant to create conversation and excitement, as well as celebrate those teams that have found success this season. They hold no bearing on a team or player’s self-worth and are not meant to be negatively critical. They are meant to be fun, not frustrating, and are based solely on our own research and evaluations, so please keep all negative comments at bay.

Please note: Coaches who want their teams considered for the Power 25 each week, or are seeking corrections to statistics or records, must email Jimmy Pompeo ( or Sam Haimann ( Following every top team in the country is a tough task, but we want to allow every team to make its case. 

Marymount's reign continues as the top of the crop, after a fantastic performance at the Nike Tournament of Champions Southwest. But, we've got a new no. 2 contender this week as Mater Dei has fallen after a challenging run of matches in Phoenix. Check it out!
