Nov. 7 National High School Team Rankings

St. Thomas Aquinas rallied to knock off St. James for a Kansas 5A title and the right to be background for this week’s graphic today presents its weekly top 100 national high school team rankings.

The rankings will be abbreviated today because your faithful ranker is in Dayton, Ohio, having traveled all day yesterday from Oregon to attend the Ohio State Tournament. The most interesting match today is in Division III, where Independence takes on undefeated Wheelersburg in a semifinal at 12 noon eastern time.

Tomorrow at 2 is the main event: undefeated national No. 1 Padua Franciscan versus No. 10 Mount Notre Dame (25-2) in a Division I semifinal. The Cougars have avenged both of their losses on the season and come out of the brutal GGCL, which has produced six of the past seven champions in this division.

    After Mater Dei beats Redondo, Maybe you will move them to #12.

    Why should the Monarchs be higher?

    3-4 versus the top 20. How does that merit top 10 consideration? Who do you take out to put Mater Dei in?
