PrepVolleyball.com today presents its weekly top 100 national high school team rankings.

Padua Franciscan holds steady at No. 1 heading to the playoffs. The Bruins are vying to be the first national champions from Ohio since juggernaut St. Ursula of Cincinnati did the trick in 2003.

One interesting note: 19 teams in last week’s Top 100 dropped at least one match over the past seven days, yet only three fell from the rankings. Many of the losing teams that stayed in lost to other nationally-ranked teams or lost to teams they’d previously defeated. Now that we are deep into the season, we have a significant body of work for each team. Since we examine season-long results every week, a team with an impressive resume, like Hagerty, for instance, can absorb a loss (to Oviedo) without falling completely out of favor.
