PrepVolleyball.com's Top 100 National HS Rankings (Holiday Edition)
FacebookTwitterEmailPrint

Happy Thanksgiving and welcome to the holiday version of PrepVolleyball.com’s Top 100 National HS Rankings. This is the last “regular” edition of the season. By that, we mean the normal Top 100 plus Honorable Mentions. That’s because with California moving its state playoffs up two weeks this year, we aren’t waiting for the Golden State to conclude at this time this year.

Therefore, next week is our final National Rankings of the HS season, but it’s a very special edition. One we call The Behemoth. If you are familiar with PVB, you know all about it. If not, The Behemoth is exactly what it sounds like, a monster set of rankings.

Next week, instead of the in-season Top 100, we will rank a Top 250. That’s not all. We will also have state-by-state rankings on top of that. That’s a lot of rankings, none of which you’ll want to miss.

As for this week, this is the “skimmed” down Top 100, with only notes for the few teams that played last week. Other than that, it’s a listing. We don’t anticipate the Top 100 changing very much next week, but it could change slightly still. That’s because we reserve the right to finalize it right up until the official last ranking of the year.

But, next week will feature a set of 150 teams getting ranked from 101-250 that we haven’t seen before and that’s exciting enough.

The biggest change this week comes near the very top. Flower Mound, after beating highly-ranked teams in Byron Nelson and Southlake Carroll in recent weeks and then finishing the year off by winning the Texas 6A state title, jumped all the way to No. 4. It also brought Byron Nelson back in the Top 5, as Byron Nelson’s loss to Flower Mound is a quality one.

Behind that both Kingwood Park, the Texas 5A state champ, and Grand Rapids Christian, Michigan’s Class B state champ, broke into the Top 100 this week, as did Florida 8A state champ St. Thomas Aquinas. The only other team joining the rankings this week was Weatherford of Texas.
