Could Covid-Related College Cuts Impact Recruiting?

The Covid-19 pandemic may have been temporarily lost in the shuffle of significant current events, but by no means is it close to over. In regards to college athletics, specifically, programs across the country have been forced to make the difficult decisions of cutting sports and slashing budgets to reduce the financial impact of the Corona Virus.

There is no question that the Corona Virus pandemic has impacted college sports on a massive scale, canceling entire sports seasons and championships, as well as driving profit losses from television rights and ticket sales. But, while the focus has been on the NCAA's favorite children (Basketball and Football), the impact is much more likely to affect sports like volleyball and other 'non-revenue' programs.
