Kobe Bryant's Death Felt by Volleyball Community

The news of NBA star Kobe Bryant’s death alongside daughter Gianna and seven others on Sunday has shaken the world and the response of grief has extended beyond the basketball community. Celebrities and former basketball teammates have made their mourning public, but Bryant's death is also felt by many involved in volleyball.

Bryant’s oldest daughter Natalia Bryant is a middle blocker for Sage Hill HS in California and her father has been spotted at club volleyball tournaments and supporting USA Volleyball athletes. It’s also no secret that, like many members of PrepVolleyball.com and beyond, Bryant was thrilled to be a #GirlDad.

Volleyball programs, players, and coaches from the club, collegiate, and professional levels have taken to social media to express their condolences for those lost in the helicopter crash, those who are survived by the victims, and what Bryant represented in the sports world.
