Howard University, an Historically Black College or University (HBCU) is set to host No. 29 Wichita State on Sunday and No. 1 Stanford on Monday, matches that have generated quite a buzz in the nation's capital.

It is believed to be the first time an HBCU has ever hosted nationally-ranked teams in their own gym.

No. 6 Penn State, which has played Howard each of the last three years in Happy Valley, comes to D.C. to play Howard on Sept. 15.

Crowds of more than 1,000 are expected for each of the matches. Howard's gym has capacity of 1,700.

Howard has never beaten a ranked team in its history.
