Outside hitter Kaylee Cox knows first-hand about the sacrifices that athletes must take in order to have a season amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The Flower Mound HS (TX) senior has gotten an inside look at what the professionals have done to successfully play without the coronavirus pandemic putting a premature halt to the season.

Her sister Lauren Cox, former Baylor basketball standout, is playing in the WNBA for the Indiana Fever. She’s currently in the bubble created to maintain the athletes’ health and safety. The WNBA bubble, or the “Wubble” as some call it, has been without a positive COVID-19 test since initiating the exclusive safe environment.

As state associations and programs at the high school and club levels work to sort out their own sets of rules and regulations to combat the coronavirus, we might be able to gain some perspective about what has been successful elsewhere.
