In this Weekend Rewind, we’ll recap various Labor Day Weekend tournaments around the country and focus on the one we attended – the Circus City Invitational. Please send relevant news to SGreen@prepvolleyball.com to let us know what your team is up to!

The Florida tournament had some unexpected events as the impending storm, Hurricane Dorian, forced six teams to drop out the week leading up to the event. One more was added to make the field 11 and the coach and tournament director of host school Cardinal Mooney, Chad Sutton, was still changing the tournament format until Thursday evening. Once in Sarasota, many of the out-of-state teams had to change their travel arrangements, but they were still able to squeeze in some beach time while the Sunshine State was still sunny.

Still, with such a small field, there were five teams who came from out of state and three of those are ranked in the top 100 pre-season national rankings - pretty impressive!
