Esteemed Volleyball Coach Mike Hebert Has Passed Away

A legend in the coaching world has died this week. Mike Hebert passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019, in San Diego, California at the age of 75. Hebert suffered from Parkinson’s Disease and dementia.

Hebert spent 35 years coaching collegiate volleyball with stops at Pittsburgh and New Mexico, followed by his most notable stints at Illinois and Minnesota. Over the years, his teams made NCAA tournament appearances 26 times. His overall career record tallied 952-392, or 892-374 in the era of NCAA Division I volleyball.
