If a person's mindset makes up 90-percent of success in sports, then Skye McDermott is winning. The Evansville HS freshman was born with only one hand, her right, but when she discovered a love for volleyball at age 11, her determination to become great was ignited. And when she decided she wanted to become a setter regardless of what it would take, she simply blossomed into a setter.
“I really don’t have challenges because I overcome them,” said McDermott. “I don’t give up because someone said I can’t do something. I use those words as motivation to push me even harder.”
