That’s all that separated TAV 15 Black from almost being knocked out of 15 Open on Day 1 of the Lone Star Classic in Dallas. The major shocker was avoided as Melanie McGann’s ace closed out TAV’s one-game playoff victory over Tx Performance 15s, 27-25, as Friday’s AM waves were winding down early Friday afternoon.

TAV had a chance to win the pool outright but was upended by Madfrog 15 Black, 25-15, 25-23, in the 1 v 2 meeting and fell into a three-way tie at 2-1 with Madfrog Black and Tx Performance. Madfrog earned first based on set percentage, leaving TAV and Tx Performance in the must-win playoff.
