[Editor’s note: PrepVolleyball.com founder John Tawa is not a prospect evaluation expert like the college coaches on his panel. John – 10 days ago you wrote “Stanford has an immediate need at libero and scored the highest-ranked prospect in Hentz, who is No. 22 in the Senior Aces. Hentz is a gritty defender and capable passer whose passion touches everyone around her. She will make the team better just by being on the court.”

But in this article you write “I am concerned about ball control. Do they have it in this class? Hentz is an outside making the transition to libero and is highly regarded and rightfully so. But is she a great passer? Can she become one?”

So you are asking if the sole Libero from Team West, who was selected MVP of the Under-Armour All-American game, is a great passer?

Don’t let her greatness as an OH and 6 rotation player overshadow and trick you you into thinking the passing isn’t there. It’s not a transition to Libero, it’s more like picking up where she left off, only this time in a different colored jersey. I think her experience at all 6 has made her a better Libero, and she will make the hitters in front of her better because of it.
